TFP Model
Creating Without Pressure. Simple and with Intention.

I’m retired, which means photography isn’t my hustle — it’s my passion. These days, I work on projects that inspire me, and I prefer collaboration over transactions. That’s why my work is offered on a TFP (Time For Prints) basis.

What does TFP mean?

TFP is sometimes mistakenly called “Trade for Prints” or “Trade for Photography.” While those phrases float around, the true meaning is “Time For Prints.”

TFP is a simple exchange:

• My time and effort — experience, camera gear, editing, and artistic vision.
• Your time and effort — showing up, modeling, styling, or sharing your presence.

In return for your contribution, you receive carefully edited prints and digital files. That’s the heart of TFP: no money exchanged, just mutual time and creativity traded for meaningful photographs.

How It Works

We collaborate: You bring your ideas and personality, I bring my skill and equipment.

You receive social media JPEG images: I deliver polished, edited digital JPEG photographs (typically 2048 pixels on the long side as suggested by Facebook and other platforms for best viewing with little compression) that reflect my style and vision. You may publish them to your social media account or have them printed, your choice.

No session fees: Because this is about art and enjoyment, not commerce.

No RAW files

My RAW FILES are never released, as they are unfinished and don’t represent my work. Every image you receive is complete and intentional.

Optional Heirloom Prints

While social media digital images are always included, sometimes photographs deserve more permanence. If you’d like, we can create high-resolution heirloom-quality prints, albums, or wall art. These are optional add-ons, made through professional print labs I trust.

Supporting My Work

TFP doesn’t mean without value. If you’d like to support my photography beyond our collaboration, you can:

• Order archival prints, albums, or wall art
• Purchase from my Picfair store
• Or simply make a pay-what-you-can contribution — helping cover equipment and supplies so I can continue creating

The Spirit of TFP

At its core, TFP is about shared investment: we both give our time, and we both receive something meaningful. You’ll walk away with images you’re proud of, and I get the joy of creating without the pressures of running a business.

Agreements & Intentions

Even in a TFP collaboration, clarity matters. Before we shoot, we’ll confirm:

• Intention — what we’re creating, how it will be used, and any boundaries.
Model/Collaborator Release — signed so I can legally use the images for my portfolio, website, social platforms, and my PicFair Store.
• Sharing Obligations — you’ll receive edited JPEG images to use personally and on social media, but always with proper credit.
• Licensing — the images I provide you are for your personal and portfolio use. Commercial use (ads, products, resale, etc.) requires a separate license.

Note on Terminology

You may see TFP described elsewhere as “Trade for Prints” or “Trade for Photography.” While those phrases are used informally, the correct meaning is “Time For Prints.” In my model, that means we both invest our time and effort — and in return, you receive finished, edited images.

If you’d like to own one of my stock photographs

You can purchase prints and digital downloads directly through my Picfair store. Picfair handles printing, framing, and worldwide shipping, making it simple to get professional-quality artwork delivered right to your door. Every purchase directly supports my photography, and because I’m retired, it allows me to keep creating the images I love most — from Arizona landscapes to intimate portraits and beyond.
