Behind the Lens: A Life in Motion and Light
Hey there! I’m Kara Riedas, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a photographer, videographer, editor, illustrator, and all-around visual storyteller based in sunny Tempe, Arizona.
From the gritty days of film and darkrooms to today’s high-tech digital full-frame and APS-C cameras — not to mention drones with high-resolution cameras and lenses — my love for creating images has only grown stronger over the years.
Post-production is where the magic happens: transforming RAW photos through retouching, color grading, and fine-tuned detail into visual stories that truly speak.
I love capturing the little things — genuine emotion, fleeting moments, and scenes in motion. Whether it's automotive shoots, portraits, street photography, wildlife, landscapes, or aerial drone footage, every project is infused with creativity and backed by years of hands-on experience.
I roll with a mix of Canon full-frame and APS-C cameras, a trusty DJI drone, and a portable pro lighting rig that helps me dial in expert lighting and composition. Whether I’m shooting a vintage car cruising the desert, a wild animal in its natural habitat, or a candid city moment, my goal is always to tell stories you can feel.
